Richmond Dale Young, age 101 of Burnsville, NC, passed away at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, NC, on July 1, 2024. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph A. and Margaret Edge Young; sisters: Kathleen Young Murphy, Minnie Ella Young, and Juanita Young Morgan; brothers: W. Wilson Young, Thomas Marshall Young, and Eugene Austin Young.
He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and helpful members of his community.
Dale joined his twin sister, Minnie Ella and Marshal in the family business, Young’s Shoes. He managed the businesses located in Forest City and Hendersonville for many years prior to retirement. Upon returning to Yancey County, he became a devoted and active member of Bowditch Union Church.
There will be a funeral service at the church on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. followed by a family burial at Bowditch Union Church Cemetery.
