James William Huskins, age 61, of Doraville, GA, went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25th, 2024 at his home. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late James Homer and Elizabeth Young Huskins.
Jim became a graphic designer out of college and spent numerous years designing for an athletic company. In his spare time, he loved to cook and thoroughly enjoyed growing roses. He and his sister, Karen, remained close throughout their lives and enjoyed meeting at the beach to spend time together. He will be dearly missed by family and friends who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Karen Huskins Higgins, and her husband, Danny of Burnsville; an aunt, Georgia Self of Spruce Pine, as well as numerous cousins. His cat, Pit Stop, will greatly miss him.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 21 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Dick Westbrook and Rev. Gene King will officiate.
